How Long Does Cosmetology School Take?

Cosmetology is a rewarding career. Cosmetology has many different exciting career paths that you can choose from to use your passion for creativity and to help others.

To qualify for cosmetology licensure, you must attend a licensed school and complete the state’s minimum required training hours and then take and pass the state's cosmetology board exams. Depending on the state licensing requirements and whether you are a full or part time student, attending cosmetology school could take from 8 months to 2 years.
